Identity starts with the plant.

A little good company.
Start with what is known.
A source record is a starting point.

A recorded label and seller reference are useful. They do not, by themselves, establish an individual plant or a breeding history.

Collection & research

Start with the record.

Explore the existing public collection for recorded labels, source information and the questions still awaiting review.

Reading plant information

Clear about what
we know.

Look for the source and scope behind a claim. Keep missing information separate from information that still needs review.

Not recorded

No information has been recorded for that field. A blank is more useful than an assumption.

Reported — unverified

A label, seller or other source reports the information. That report alone does not independently establish it.

Awaiting review

Supporting material still needs to be reviewed. The information remains provisional.

Documented

A supporting source is recorded for the claim. Its scope matters: documented does not mean genetically authenticated.

Seed × pollen direction needs its own documentation. A cross written in a source label does not, by itself, establish which plant was the seed parent.

Future releases

A place for
what comes next.

Future collector offers stay separate from the research collection. A proposed project is not a performed cross or a confirmed release.
